Arsenal Take Nigeria To World Cup In Russia 2018

Arsenal Football Club star and Nigerian point man, Alex Iwobi scored the all-important goal in the world cup qualifier match between Nigeria and Zambia to send Nigeria to the greatest sporting fiesta in the world, the FIFA world cup in Russia 2018.

The Arsenal striker came off the bench in the second half of the match played this evening, Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Uyo utra-modern stadium, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria to poke in the goal set up by Shehu Abdullahi, who was voted Man of the Match, well into the second half of the game.
With the victory, Nigeria becomes the first African country to qualify for the world cup, making it the sixth time she has done so.

The victory over the hard-fighting Zambians makes the last match of the qualifiers a mere formality for Nigeria, having led the Group B second placed country, Zambia, with six points. Algeria and Cameroun bring up the rear in the group.
