A former member of the Nigeria's House of Representatives, Hon. Abubakar Momoh, who
recently emerged as the PDP Senatorial Candidate, Edo North District, has challenged the incumbent Senator representing the district at the National Assembly,  Senator Francis Alimikhena, to a debate ahead of the 2019 National Assembly elections.

Hon. Aubakar Momoh threw the challenge during his acceptance
speech shortly after his emergence as the PDP Senatorial Candidate.

Hon. Abubakar Momoh, who emerged as the party's consensus senatorial candidate, accused Senator Alimikhena of poor performance in office and discrimination against the Owans and Akoko-Edos in the senatorial district.

“The debate will provide a platform for Senator Alimikhena to
present his scorecard to the constituents while I will also provide my scorecard as a former member of the House of Representatives representing Etsako Federal constituency and my blueprints for the senatorial district if
elected," the former law maker said.

Similarly, the PDP senatorial candidate, who was a two-term member of the House of Representatives said Senator Alimikhena won the 2015 Senatorial election courtesy of former Governor of Edo State and presently the National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole's Political Oxygen. The oxygen,
he claimed, “has been exhausted, dried and no longer relevant in Edo North politics.”

Hon. Abubakar Momoh, who was also full of praises for the leaders of the party in Edo North which include the Edo State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih and Chief Mike Ogiadomhe for their significant
roles in the resurgence of PDP in Edo North, said, "We are now in a position of strength and there is no better time to show our strength than in the 2019 general elections.”

Hon. Momoh also said apart from sponsoring of seven bills and moving ten motions which directly affect the lives of the constituents during his time in the National Assembly, he similarly enumerated some of the projects he facilitated and executed, to include the extension of electricity to various communities and the purchase and installation of not less than 20 transformers across Etsako Federal constituency, facilitating the construction of a Pedestrian bridge at the Auchi Polytechnic Auchi main gate to reduce the accident mortality rate among the students
along the busy Abuja-Auchi highway; creation of job opportunities for constituents, among others.

He promised to redouble his efforts to ensure adequate and effective representation of the district's varied interests in Abuja, if elected into the senate.
