Agbelo Golden Ladies Club of Nigeria is not about partying and munching at social gatherings.

It is a collective of enterprising ladies who are tirelessly exploring the business sphere individually and collectively.
They are presently testing the agric business with a cassava farm.

A few of the members led by the founder of the Club, Lady Zainab Obada recently visited the farm located at Odokiode, Imiegba, Edo state of Nigeria to see for themselves.

And Agbelonews was there.

When the founder was asked how the Club came about going into farming despite being based in a cosmopolitan city like Lagos, she said the Club had always been business oriented from the outset, saying the primary aim of the club is for the members to pull resources together to help one another in their respective individual business ventures.

Lady Obada, however, said the idea of the Club going into farming came from the Club Adviser, Sir Suleiman Ugbokhe a few years ago, but the proposal was not implemented until last year when the Club decided to tryout the farming business with a small cassava farm.

The cassava farm located at Odokiode, Imiegba, Edo state of Nigeria, covers just about two plots. A few members of the club visited the farm in February, 2019 to see for themselves.

Those that visited the farm were the President of the Club, Lady Stella Omah; Founder of the Club, Lady Zainab Obada; the Financial Secretary, Lady Medinat Ugbokhe.

They were joined in the farm visit by another member, Lady Grace Abraham and the Club Adviser, Sir Suleiman Ugbokhe.
Though the visit took place in the heart of the dry season when the cassava stems were almost leafless, it was easy to see that the cassava farm was thriving.

“I am happy with what I have seen in the farm,” the founder told Agbelonews at the end of the visit to the farm.

“By the grace of God, we are not going to labour in vain.”

The other members were equally pleased with the state of the cassava farm.
