Making Akamu Meal

Akamu, called pap in English is processed from maize or Guinea corn or millet or a combination of either two or all of them.
Akamu as is generally called in soutthern Nigeria and kwókwó in the northern part of the country is easy to make.

It takes roughly 30 minutes from when you put water on fire to boil, to get the pap meal ready for consumption.
It is indeed a simple and quick meal to prepare.
If you belong to the latter group of people, all you have to do is to continue to add the boiled water to it until you reached the desired state.
The pap meal is ready for consumption alone.
But most times, it is taken with a sweetener and an accompaniment - and they are many to choose from!
You can take pap with sugar (this site does not promote chemicalised(artificial) items. Sugar is only mentioned here because sugarcane is its primary source) alone.
Pap is basically a breakfast meal that can go with bean cake (akara) or moin-moin - separate stories on akara and moin-moin will feature much later on this site.
Another accompaniment that goes well with pap is fried potato.
Fried yam alone or garnished with eggs is another tantalising companion of pap meal.
