Former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Mr Zakawanu Garuba has described the death of former chairman, Board of Trustees ( BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih as a monumental loss to the party, Edo state and Nigeria.

Mr Zakawanu Garuba, in a statement in Benin at the weekend, described Chief Anenih as a great son of Esanland and Edoland, saying that his death represents a monumental loss especially now that PDP is on the verge of enthroning good governance in the country.

He said, "This is indeed the time when his pragmatism and political acumen would have made the difference.

“Chief Anenih cut a father-figure to me, he was meek and generous to me and my household hence his death left a deep cut in my heart.”

"Late Chief Anenih was a big masquerade. The Chief Anenih that I knew and interacted with during his lifetime was a man of many parts, frontline politician, community leader who lived a life worthy of emulation .

"His love and passions radiated all around but sadly the Nigerian public did not truly get to know this enchanting enigma because of Chief Anenih’s subtleness."
