Families Have A Swell Christmas Celebration In Mr Bigg's

By Suleiman Ugbokhe

“And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” - Matthew 18:3
On Christmas day at the grounds of Mr Biggs at Gowon Estate, Egbeda, Alimosho, Lagos, it was like the unwritten law was if you are not with children you cannot enter, as clusters of children accompanied by parents or older siblings troop into the Mr Bigg's premises to celebrate.
No doubt the day was for the children, though accompanied by parents or guardians.

Mrs Nwokeke and her children

Mrs Nwokeke sets the tone when she told Agbelonews, “Well, as you can see us with the children we are here to make them happy. And we are celebrating because of the birth of Jesus Christ, so, we have to have fun.
“Christmas means the period to have fun and send gifts because Jesus Christ was born.”
Speaking to Agbelonews in the same vein, Mr Afolabi Aroniba, who brought his son, Olalekan, said, “I think it is a time to thank God for witnessing it. I think it is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ because that is what gives the world the joy today and to celebrate it and make merriment for the children because it is them that really get this festival because when we were children too we know how happy we used to be in a moment like this.”

Afolabi and Nwokeke got the seal of approval from no less a personality than the manager of the Gowon Estate Branch of Mr Bigg's, the globally acclaimed eatery giant, Peace Stephen, when she said, “We thank God for this year, 2018. It has been awesome. You know Mr Bigg's’ brand; it’s a children’s brand. We embrace children and we love celebrating children, especially when it is seasonal – a time like this. You can see everywhere is vibrant; they are rejoicing, dancing and celebrating Christ, which is the reason for the festival.

“Yes, it is a part of the fulfilment of Mr Bigg's' mission, making the children happy, making the kids have fun at every seasonal period of the year. And this year 2018 Christmas is not less than that. And of course the mothers and the fathers will also join in the celebration as you can see. “They are all here having fun. The children are on the bouncing castle while the parents are inside enjoying the brand's meals.”
Yet another parent who gave her name as Mrs Cathrine Nwafor brought her children not only to eat and drink, but to glorify God for her daughter who survived an accident not too long ago.

“The Christmas celebration has been all fun. Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ. Christ is the reason for the celebration. I have nothing to say; we are all happy to witness this year's Christmas.
“Actually, we may not be living according to his tenets, but he has a tender heart, he accepts all we have been doing, the wrong things we have been doing and he still gives the grace to celebrate more. We thank God. We give glory to God. You see my daughter? Last week it was all about accident, but I give God the glory.”
Mrs Blessing Eriba speaking to Agbelonews said, Wow! The Christmas celebration was wonderful; I enjoyed it. I give God the glory because I am alive. Even without much, I just praise God because I am alive, my children are healthy, my husband is healthy. All my family members are healthy; I didn’t lose anyone.

“We are celebrating Christmas with love. Anything that we have, we share with our loved ones. I am happy, I am happy, I am happy. I just want to say let God receive the glory and the honour. That is what I have to give.
“I am celebrating Jesus. We should live like him; we should follow his footsteps. He is a loved person; he is a peace maker; we should adore everybody around us. Jesus didn’t despise anyone.
“In our neighbourhood, we should show love so that they know there is God. We should behave like him.”
Speaking on the lessons of Christmas, Afolabi, who works with a travel agency, says “Well, I think one of the lessons to learn is to catch what the moment really teaches us as Christians; so not just about merry making. One of the purposes of Christmas is that it teaches us the importance of birth and celebration of life.”
“Personally, I know that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus…, Mr Bigg's manager chips in.
With the children running around and mingling freely as they move from one gaming platform to another enjoying themselves, Mr Bigg's manager, Peace, assures of the continuous improvement of services to their customers.

“As you have seen today, last year we didn’t celebrate it like this. But this year we improved. We added more games like the bouncing castle you see, the horse riding, the deejay, the games they play and the gift items for every best performer. These are new games we added this year,” she says.
“By the grace of God, next year, 2019 will be better because….they improve the sales of Mr Bigg's.
