Obaseki–Shaibu Project Is Non-negotiable – Hon. Benedicta Ebuehi

The reelection of Governor Godwin Obaseki alongside his deputy, Philip Shaibu for a second term in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo state has been described as “non-negotiable” by the Executive Chairman of Etsako East local government area, Hon. (Mrs) Benedicta Ebuehi.
She stated this in her office while swearing in Special Assistants (SAs) drawn from the 10 Wards in the local government area on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
“It is not surprising that Governor Obaseki has become the toast of the nation as he keeps receiving various awards from different sectors of the country. This is because the good work the governor is doing is glaring for all to see,” the Executive Chairman said.
“I am therefore, calling on all of us to join the moving Edo State Train as it gathers momentum towards the governorship election in September 2020.”
Hon. Benedicta Ebuehi enjoined the newly sworn in SAs not to see their appointments as opportunity to engage in profligacy and haughtiness but to serve the government creditably well and participate fully in ensuring that governor Obaseki and his deputy, Shaibu are successfully reelected for a second term in office this year.
She said: “Please, all of you should go back to your respective Wards and proclaim the good works of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration and also effectively participate in the forthcoming re-registration of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, as efforts are geared towards getting additional five hundred thousand (500,000) new members into the APC fold before the governorship election later in the year.
“If you have any difficulty in the discharge of your duties you are free to come to me so that together we can resolve such hindrances. I would advise that you choose one person amongst you to present your issues on your behalf to avoid rowdiness if you all decide to see me at the same time.
“I operate an open-door policy. You should see me as your sister, mother and friend, whom you can interact with freely without any hindrance or misgiving.
“The Edo State Train is moving at a full speed towards its identified destination. You are all on the train moving Edo state to the next level, but if you are not willing to be part of this history-making journey, please, give way.”
The erudite Executive Chairman, after administering the oath of office and oath of allegiance on the SAs, congratulated them and wished them God’s guidance as they discharge their duties.
