Public Parade: How petty thieves are dealt with

This is how petty thieves who are caught red-handed are paraded through the streets of the community in which the crime was committed to serve as a deterrent to others who may be nursing the idea of stealing from others.
This particular incident was said  to have happened at Agenebode, the River Niger bank community and headquarters of Etsako East local government area of Edo state, Nigeria.
The young man was said to have been caught with allegedly stolen goats, which were then tied to his waist and one slung across his shoulders.
The public stigmatization will live with him for the rest of his life. If he begets a family, his family members will have to live with that too, because they will be constantly reminded of the unenviable antecedents of their father.
