Police Investigation Reveals Identity Of Police Woman Who Helped Evans Escape In 2006

A scenario that is reminiscent of the notorious and dreaded armed robber known as Anini who held sway in the then Bendel state axis of Nigeria, is playing out in the case of the kidnap kingpin, Evans, who was arrested a few weeks ago in Lagos.
Latest reports indicate that a police woman who helped Evans to escape from detention in 2006, when he was arrested for armed robbery has been unmasked.
It will be recalled that when the reign of Anini came to an end by his arrest, confessional statements made by him implicated some police officers who were said to be supplying him arms and information to aid his operation. A police officer, Osunbor, was actually convicted along with Anini and were both executed.
Now, according to reports by NAIJ.com, investigations have revealed that a police woman helped Evans to escape in 2006, after his arrest for armed robbery.
"Police investigation has revealed that the policewoman simply identified as Tina who helped Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans to escape detention is still in active service," NAIJ.com reports.
"The Nation reports that a Special Investigation Panel constituted by Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to probe Evans’ 2006 arrest and eventual release found out that the so-called Tina was not only in active duty but has also risen to the position of a Chief Superintendent of Police."
