The Union at its annual conference held on December 26, 2020, at Imiegba, reviewed governance in the local government area and resolved that the Etsako East helmswoman was positively touching the lives of the people through deliberate execution of projects that are impacting on the masses.

The Union delegates therefore unanimously agreed to write a commendation letter to her in which they thanked her on behalf of the people of Imiegba for projects she has so far done in the community to improve the lives of the people. Such projects include but not restricted to a borehole for the community to relieve the women of the arduous task of daily climbing hills to fetch water from streams located in difficult terrains in the bushes; and the allocation of an executive tricycle ambulance to the Primary Health Center at Imiegba, which has further improved speeding dispensation of health services to the people.

The commendation letter was delivered to her in her residence at Okpekpe by a delegation led by the National President of the Union, Hon. Adamu Umoru - a former Chairman of NULGE, Etsako East chapter.

Other members of the delegation were Alhaji Ayuba Edelefo, secretary, Board of Trustees and former Secretary General of the Union; Alhaji Blessing Imhador, Regional President of the Union, Southern states and Ward 9 Leader of PDP; Hon. Salim Afoso, Supervisory Councillor, Works, Etsako East local government area.

"Our Executive Chairman, I want to assure you that given your excellent performance so far, Ward 9 is solidly behind you whenever the state government decides to conduct the council election in the state," Alhaji Imhador stated.

In like manner, Alhaji Ayuba Edelefo said those of them in the cities were set to transfer their voter's cards to their local government so as to be able to come down to not only mobilise the people to vote enmass for her but also that they would be able to exercise their franchise during the election.

"Be rest assured that we are going to mobilise heavily to come down during the forthcoming local government election to vote you into office as a full-fledged Executive Chairman of the local government area to continue the good work you are doing presently," Alhaji Edelefo declared.

Comrade Sule Ekhayemhe told the Executive Chairman that there was "no alternative to" her.

The delegation also declared their support for Hon. Salim Afoso as councillorship candidate for Ward 9 in the upcoming 2021 council election.

Responding, Hon. (Mrs) Benedicta Ebuehi thanked the delegation for their visit and the commendation letter appreciating her humble contribution to the development of Etsako East local government area.

"What you have just done with this commendation letter is to re-energise me and inspire me to work harder for the people for whom governance is meant," the Executive Chairman said.

"Despite the downturn of the economy brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, we shall continue to strive to improve on services as you have honoured me today.

"I promise not to disappoint the entire people of Etsako East local government area because of the implicit confidence they have in me."
